On June 24, Disney Cruise Line announced a new option called Cruise Date Flexibility. This is a peace of mind option that allows you to change your sail date up to 15 days prior to embarkation. This is applicable only for cruises booked by August 31, 2020, with a sail date through March 31, 2021
DCL is giving us this option because they know many of us are concerned about cruising right now or may have concerns later this fall or even early next year!
Are you eligible and how does it work?
- This offer is for existing reservations as well as new bookings made by August 31, 2020
- Applicable to cruises departing through March 31, 2021
- You can choose a new sail date up through April 1, 2022
- Sailings are currently available through summer 2021 with additional eligible sailings to be released at a later date.
This is only for those who currently have a cruise booked OR for a new cruise booked by August 31, 2020. Any sailings are eligible from the time they resume sailing (hopefully in September!) through any sailing scheduled for March 31, 2020.
For your new cruise, you can choose any sailing that begins on or before April 1, 2022. We don't even have cruises out that far yet, but we can book it as soon as they are!
Your cruise rate may increase by changing dates, so your original rate is not locked in. If it's more expensive, you will have to pay the difference!
You cannot change back to your original sailing if you later change your mind! Also, if you later decide to cancel the new sailing, cancellation fees will be applicable based on when you changed the original sailing. In other words, if you move the first cruise 30 days prior to the sailing, move to a later sailing, and then decide to cancel, your new cancellation penalty will be 50% of the cost of the sailing.
