Activities at Disney's Aulani, A Resort & Spa in Hawaii

There are so many options of where to stay on Oahu. Do you stay in the heart of the hustle and bustle in Waikiki? Maybe at Turtle Bay on the quiet North Shore. Or you can opt for the beautiful Aulani Resort in Ko'Olina!

Why choose Aulani? So many reasons! Maybe you want the Disney touches and customer service, characters in aloha wear, the quiet location, or maybe you just love the look of the resort! Whatever your reason, there's so much to do here!

First, there is a guide published each day that lists all the activities for the day. This guide, The Daily 'Iwa (pronounced Ee-vuh if you want to sound like a local!), includes activities for kids, for families, and for adults. Mostof these are included in your stay while others will have an extra charge.

Now, what kinds of things can you do at Aulani?

For kids, there's Aunty's Beach House. This is a kids club option that is fully included in the cost of your stay! Designed for kids ages 3-12, this has indoor and outdoor secure places to play as well as many organized activities each day! Stop in to play for a while or come for a specific activity. This is also a great place for the kids to go while Mom and Dad have some adult drinks or dinner on their own! There are also activities for teens; while there are not quite as many, most teens will still enjoy the scavenger hunts or the animation classes.

Family activities abound! If you want to do something all together, check out the Daily 'Iwa for tours, animation, and more!

Maybe you want to try snorkeling in a controlled area. Rainbow Reef may be perfect for you! You can purchase a length of stay pass or access for just one day! You're always guaranteed to see fish here and your entry fee includes snorkel masks and inflatable vests.

At night, you'll find an array of activities. Maybe you want to hear Uncle tell his stories by the fire pit or see a Disney movie on the lawn. The Disney movie nights even include pre-show fun like Disney movie trivia and Hawaiian games. Plus, they show photos from around the resort that day, so you might even see your face on the big screen! You can also enjoy live music at the 'Olelo Room or 'Ama'ama restaurant. Don't want to hang out with people, pop into the Pau Hana Room and borrow a movie to watch in your room!

During the day, enjoy the many pools, lazy river, and the water slides at Aulani. Don't miss the adults-only pools and hot tubs, or enjoy splashing with the whole family in one of the main pools including a lovely infinity pool. There's also a fun octopus shaped splash pad for the little ones and a great splash zone!

Of course you're just steps away from the beach as well! Beautiful Ko'Olina lagoons are nice protected areas to swim without being swept off your feet! You can float, swim, or snorkel here.

Are you bringing along your kids who might want a great opportunity for a make-over? Look no further than Painted Sky! Here your little ones can get a Hawaiian style makeover for the luau or packages for their favorite character like Ariel, Moana, and Minnie Mouse!  There are so many packages and options:  https://www.disneyaulani.com/spa-fitness/painted-sky-hi-style-studio/.

For even more relaxing, how about booking a spa package at the beautiful LaniWai Spa with both indoor and outdoor spa options, or enjoy a fitness class, yoga on the beach, or some workout time at the Aulani Spa & Fitness Center.

Also included in your stay is a fun interactive scavenger hunt--the Menehune Adventure Trail! Check out a special tablet at the Pau Hana community center. Then the tablet will display interactive clues as you walk along the trail. At certain spots, you'll see scenery come to life when you answer a clue correctly. Along the way, you'll learn about the Menehune—the legendary "little people" of Hawai‘i.

Want to try something new or adventurous? Learn to paddle board, rent some gear, sign up for a surf lesson, or choose from one of the many adventures and tours you can do around the island--Pearl Harbor, North Shore, island tours, and more!

Of course there are Disney characters around! You can find Moana as well as Mickey, Goofy, Stitch, and friends around the resort each day!

Finally, the food! Makahiki has a character buffet breakfast each morning; at night, Makahiki has a lovely buffet full of local foods. On some nights, you can even enjoy the menehune mischief character dinner! 'Ama'ama has amazing beach front views and delicious foods! Ka'a'wa Luau is available for those who want to experience a Hawaiian luau with Disney touches...you never know who might stop by!

Who is ready to book? Aulani can be as quiet or as adventurous as you want! It's super for a one-night stay or a longer family vacation, but there's no shortage of things to do.
