Answer These Questions Before Booking Your Disney Resort Hotel

With so many Disney World resort hotels, how do you find the right one for your family? A travel planner who specializes in Disney travel is going to be knowledgeable and help you find the best hotel for your trip, family, or specific situation. He or she will likely ask you some of the questions below, but this is a great place for you to start as well. 

Knowing the answers to at least some of these questions will be helpful for your travel planner, too, to provide you with quotes that fit your needs.

Expectations of Your Hotel

• Think about what you want to do and where you plan to spend your days; how does your hotel fit into your plans?
  
• Do you plan to be at your hotel just to sleep or will you spend some days outside of the parks and at your hotel?
• Is the pool a major part of your vacation?
• Is a character meal at your hotel important?
  
• Is a separate bedroom or living space important and/or necessary?
  

Budget

• If you have to choose, would you rather stay at a less expensive hotel with more days at the Disney parks, or have a hotel with more amenities but a shorter stay?
• Will a less expensive hotel free up some funds to do something extra: a behind the scenes tour, seasonal party or fireworks dessert party, or a unique dining experience?
  
• Do you need accommodations with a kitchen or in-room laundry options?

Location, Location, Location

• Is staying as close as possible to one or two parks very important? In other words, are you a time is money person?
  
• Are buses suitable for all transportation options around Disney World, or would you prefer a hotel that utilizes a boat, monorail, or gondola system?
  
• Are you a park commando (all day, every day in the parks), or will you want/need afternoon breaks?
  

Hotel Theming

• Is the feel of a hotel important to your vacation?
• Do you want to see fireworks, a lake/lagoon, or a castle from your room?

Hotel Refurbishments

• Is construction occurring at your hotel a deal breaker?
• Do you mind if the main feature pool is closed during your stay?
