A New Kind of Disney World Christmas Holiday for 2020

We're so sad to find out that neither Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party nor the Candelight Processional in Epcot will be taking place in 2020.

However, Disney is planning some other fun experiences. Festive flotillas at Animal Kingdom, holiday promenades at EPCOT and merry motorcades at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Character cavalcades at Magic Kingdom will have a special holiday twist--Disney friends on festive floats in their holiday finest. AND we'll still see the gingerbread men, elves and Reindeer plus the Toy Soldiers will join the Main Street Philharmonic.

Rather than Cinderella Castle Dream Lights, this year the castle with have nighttime projections including a Christmas sweater and a regal overlay of red, green and gold.

While most character meals are still not open, Hollywood & Vine, in Hollywood Studios, will be open for a modified experience. Characters will be visible but not coming around to each table. Starting November 6, Minnie Mouse will be hosting her friends who are wearing their holiday finest! Santa Goofy will even join the fun.

Disney Springs won't be doing the full Christmas Tree Trail this year, but there will still be lots of lovely decorated trees located around the area.  At Town Center, West Side and The Landing magical snowfall can be found! And to top it off, Jock Lindsey will once again be turning his hangar bar into Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar complete with holiday décor and a limited-time menu filled with festive favorites.

The resort hotels will all be decorating for the season as well with lovely beautiful Christmas trees in the lobbies. While the gingerbread displays will not be present this year (Contemporary, Beach Club, Grand Floridian, etc), the hotels will still be lovely.

Even though we won't get to have the Candlelight Processional at Epcot this fall, we WILL get the International Festival of the Holidays with yummy treats to taste around the lake. Inside World ShowPlace you can enjoy the musical group JOYFUL! who present contemporary and traditional Christmas and holiday music. Also, the Voices of Liberty will bring their incredible 8-part harmonies to the America Gardens Theatre stage for a special concert of favorite carols and songs of the season.

Disney World will feel different this year, but there's still plenty of magic to be found! Let's plan something special for your holiday!
