What's New at Disney World in 2019

So many new things to experience in 2019...I could spend an hour listing out all the great new things attractions to see, characters to meet, resort updates and refurbishments, new resorts nearing completion, but how about just the highlights?

Star Wars Galaxy's Edge - This is the BIG ONE! We're all waiting for it! Opening in WDW in fall of 2019, an official date is yet to be announced, but everyone is excited just the same!  Two new attractions will be included in the land. Millenium Falcon:  Smuggler's Run will put you behind the controls of the Millenium Falcon. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will put you amidst a battle between the Resistance and the First Order. Stay tuned for an opening date!

Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy (spring 2019) - This new live action show in Hollywood Studios will bring you face to face with racing legend Lightning McQueen. Great news for Cars fans and just boys in general as it'll balance out some of the more girl-centric shows at Hollywood Studios!

Disney Skyliner (Fall 2019) - The new "in the clouds" transportation system will connect Disney's Art of Animation, Pop Century and Caribbean Beach resorts with Disney's Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot. Not only are these cute gondolas and a fun way to see Disney World from a different aspect, but it's a nice way to move from one of the resort stations to either Hollywood Studios or the back gate at Epcot.

Epcot Forever (Fall 2019) - As we begin to wind down to final days of Illuminations, "Epcot Forever" will begin this fall and will feature classic Epcot tunes and feature a spectacle of fireworks, music, lighting, lasers, and special effects kites.  This show will bridge the gap between the end of IllumiNations and a new nighttime show set to open at Epcot in 2020.

Illuminations Dining Package - The "Illuminations" Dining Package will allow you to sit back and relax on the patio of the Rose & Crown Dining Room in the UK pavilion in World Showcase at Epcot.

The package includes a prix fixe menu as well as unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Start with a yummy Scotch Egg or the United Kingdom Cheese Platter, have Fish and Chips, Bangers and Mash, or another British pub favorite. And for dessert, the Pudding Platter Trio with Sticky Toffee Pudding, English Trifle, and Chocolate Nougat Bar. Kids 3-9 can do soup or salad with their choice of Cheese and Turkey Flatbread, Turkey Meatball Pasta, Cheesy Pasta, or Fish and Chips as well as either Fruit Salad or Trifle for dessert.

Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway - Opening this year at Disney's Hollywood Studios, this will be the first ride-through attraction themed to Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Can you believe it? How do they NOT have their ride? It will feature a new original story and lovable theme song as you go through the Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts. New technologies will transform the two-dimensional cartoon world into an astounding multi-dimensional experience. We can't wait to see how this will play out!

Meet Kevin from Pixar's "Up" in Disney's Animal Kingdom - Wilderness Explorers should keep an eye out for Kevin to arrive sometime in January as she migrates from Paradise Falls to Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. No word on how long she'll stay though!
Mickey & Minnie's Surprise Celebration - Starting Jan. 18, 2019, in Magic Kingdom, the new "Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party" will parade up Main Street several times daily.  Mickey and Minnie will also appear in Town Square Theater together in their new birthday outfits.

Gran Destino Tower Opens at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort (July 2019) - The resort will complete a total reimagining including the new 15-story tower featuring a rooftop restaurant and 545 new Guest rooms. A second new restaurant will be located on an island in the middle of the resort's 14-acre lake, while all of its existing 1,800-plus rooms have been fully updated with new fixtures and furnishings.

Let's get ready for a great 2019 full of new experiences at Disney World!
