Special Holiday Events at Walt Disney World: Magic Kingdom

Last week we went over holiday attractions to see at Disney Springs. This week, let's take a look at the special holidays things to do while at the Magic Kingdom!

A Frozen Holiday Wish features Anna and Elsa in an all-new show on the Castle Forecourt Stage. With special appearances by rugged mountain man Kristoff and lovable snowman Olaf, the show culminates in Queen Elsa using her incredible powers to present a gift to everyone in the kingdom, transforming Cinderella Castle into a glimmering ice palace for the holidays. "A Frozen Holiday Wish" shows every night at 6:15pm. It'll show again later during party hours on party nights, too.

Jingle Cruise – The Jingle Cruise overlay consists of decorations in the show scenes of the Jungle Cruise attraction and a new Christmas-themed spiel from the skippers who are “homesick” and wanting to celebrate Christmas. This is really cute--think funny cheesy skipper jokes in a Christmas theme!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a separately ticketed event held after hours on select nights in November and December! During the party, you can enjoy most of the rides, meet characters, see Santa, watch the holiday parade, and the beautiful Christmas fireworks! The parade, Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime parade, is so much fun with our favorite Disney characters and some special Christmas additions. Don't miss the Holiday Wishes fireworks!

Holiday Scavenger Hunts are being held during Christmas Party hours only in the Fantasyland gift shops. Each shop will have three different friends that Mickey is shopping for.  Guests are given a wish list and then must search the shop for each item on the list.

In the Magic Kingdom, Santa makes an appearance at the end of Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Admission to the party requires a separate ticket. He can often be found during the day between Town Hall and the Fire Department where the area is transformed into Candy Cane Garden.

Red velvet Mickey waffles
Special food additions at Magic Kingdom include the holiday cinnamon roll and a peppermint cupcake which can both be found at the Main Street Bakery as well as a peppermint ice cream sundae available at The Plaza and Storybook Treats. Other treats are available only during the party hours: There are two Yule Logs--one at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and one at Main Street Bakery. Other fun treats are the red velvet Mickey waffles and cake push pop (both at Sleepy Hollow), an egg nogg mousse at Storybook Treats, and more!

And of course, festive decorations on Main Street and a huge Christmas tree add to the holiday feel!
