On the Disney Wonder, one of the biggest updates on the ship was the kids' spaces--Oceaneer's Club, Oceaneer's Lab, It's a Small World Nursery and the Edge. I focused on the Club and Lab last week, so we're looking at the nursery, the Edge and some photos from the Vibe.
It's a Small World Nursery is for the littlest cruisers ages 6 months to 3. They have a beautiful space with bright colors in the play area and soothing cool colors in the sleeping/napping space. With a limited number of babies and toddlers allowed in this area and reservations required, the nursery uses its space well.
While the nursery does have a fee (currently $9/hour), the ratio of adult to child is very low and gives little ones a chance to play or nap while parents enjoy dinner at Palo or a massage!

On the other end of the spectrum is the Edge and the Vibe. The Edge is designed for tweens ages 11-14. Previously, the Edge was located on deck 2 in the middle of the ship. While far away from the activity of the other decks, I actually loved the old set up. It was a combination of cool loft and squishy basement furniture! There were beanbag chairs and large couches for hanging out and watching movies. There were also several tables for board games or crafts as well as an area for playing video games like Wii and X-Box.
The new Edge is, well, edgy. Disney moved it up to deck 9 where the Arrr-Cade used to be. The kids like the location near the quick service pizza at Pinocchio's and is quick for them to come out for the deck parties or grab ice cream. Inside, shiny silver aluminum chairs have replaced the squishy couches and small backless stools have replaced the lounging area for video game play. It feels cold and sterile in here to me, and is the only change I didn't really love on the Wonder.

The last space left to see is the Vibe. I didn't notice anything different in the Vibe! They have a great space high up in the front funnel. Designed to look like a cool loft or maybe a college dorm rec room, they have plush couches and chairs and beanbags and great spaces to hang out. They have multiple TVs with spaces to watch movies, play video games or board games or do a fun "organized" activity with their youth counselors.

The kids' spaces updates on the Wonder are amazing overall! Where before some of the areas were dark and outdated, everything is bright and up to date and fun. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of the Disney ships for families.
