Walt Disney World Resort Review: Disney's Beach Club

Shhhhh...all right, I'm going to tell you a secret, but only because I like you. I almost hate to review this fantastic property because it is my family's favorite hotel, and I don't want it to become too popular but here I go anyway. Disney's Beach Club is perfect in almost every way. We absolutely love the New England Charm of this beautifully  laid out resort.

Walking into the lobby feels like coming home for us. The casual elegance of this resort reminds me of vacationing on the coast of New England as a child. The rooms in this resort are comfortable and spacious with two queen beds and a twin sofa conversion. If budget allows, splurge for a water view where you can look out upon the lagoon and over to the Boardwalk Resort.

The pool, Stormalong Bay, is perfect. The top of this waterslide puts you in the crows nest of a life sized shipwreck.  Cruise down one of the tallest resort waterslides on Walt Disney World property and land in this
3-acre sand bottom paradise.

Your family can float around the lazy river, enjoy the three hot tubs or the kiddie pool complete with miniature water slide and zero entry beach.

The pool staff hosts games for guests in the afternoon. Hang out for a game of giant ball volleyball, dancing, and Name that Disney Tune!  Be sure to stick around for shift change when the lifeguards will perform for resort guests and invite you to dance along!

The famous ice cream shop, "Beaches and Cream," is just steps away from the pool for an afternoon refreshment.
Step back in time at this old fashioned soda shop. Enjoy flavored sodas, malted milk shakes, ice cream sundaes, or try something hot off the grill. Choose your favorite tunes on your table side juke box and enjoy this fun, playful and coveted spot to take a break.

If you're brave (and hungry) enough, order the Kitchen Sink.  A HUGE ice cream sundae with a whole bunch of spoons and actually served in "a kitchen sink" is sure to fill up your family and maybe those around you!

Beaches & Cream is now so popular that Advanced Dining Reservations can be made, so you may want to plan ahead to experience this restaurant.   Take out is also available to enjoy pool side.

Cape May Cafe
There are plenty of other dining options at Beach Club. Enjoy a character meal at the Cape May Cafe, poolside snack at Hurricane Hanna's, or a quick service meal at the Beach Club Marketplace.

Beach Club Marketplace

Dining at Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Dolphin, Swan as well as all the restaurants at EPCOT are also a short walk away!  As with all deluxe disney properties, there are also refreshments served right to your pool side chair.

As the sun goes down the entertainment continues.  Roast S'mores on the sandy beach or watch a favorite Disney picture on the giant screen.

From Disney's Beach Club, you can walk or boat to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.  It is also a short walk across the lake to the evening entertainment at the Boardwalk Resort. Enjoy jugglers, magicians and carnival games.  You can even rent surrey bikes to cruise around the lake visiting all three resorts.

Is there a downside you might ask? Well, in all honesty, the quick service dining is lacking, and your kids may have so much fun at the resort they may not want as much park time!  Be sure to schedule in plenty of time to enjoy this gem!
