Top Ten Things to Do at Magic Kingdom on Your First Disney World Vacation

If you're making your first visit to Disney World, here are my top 10 things you MUST do!

1. Take a family photo in front of Cinderella’s Castle.  Seriously, what's more iconic

   than THE picture in front of the castle at the Magic Kingdom?  Ask a friend to take your picture, make a new friend and then ask them to take your picture, or just ask one of the Cast Members.
2. Try to pull the sword out of the stone. It’s right in front of Prince Charming’s Carousel ride behind the castle!  This also makes a super cute photo.
3. Meet Mickey Mouse at the Town Square Theater. This is such a unique experience because this is talking Mickey!  You can even bring something special for him to sign if you want!
4. Ride Peter Pan, Pirates of the Caribbean, it’s a small world, and Dumbo.  Even if you don't have kids or you left them at home, you have to ride these rides!
5. Eat a Mickey ice cream bar while you watch the Festival of Fantasy parade.  Or really, just eat a Mickey ice cream bar any time of the day!
6. For the thrill-seekers, ride the mountains of Magic Kingdom: Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain!  
7. For the princesses at heart, make time to meet your favorite princesses.  Head to Enchanted Tales with Belle, and then stop by Fairytale Hall to meet Cinderella and Rapunzel!  Find Tiana and Merida in their meeting spots, check the Times Guides to find Snow White and Aurora and use a FastPass to meet those new favorites, Anna & Elsa!  Schedule a meal at Cinderella's Royal Table to meet Cinderella and some of her friends while you eat.
8. For the young pirates in your group, head to Adventureland and watch Captain Jack
   
   Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial – it’s sure to be entertaining for the whole family! Argh...who doesn't love pirates?
9. Eat at Pinocchio’s Village Haus and grab a seat by the window – you can wave at kids on the It’s a Small World ride while you eat!  This is a great thing to do when you’re hot and tired and need a break – it’s nice and cold inside.  Insider tip: We always try to eat after the lunch rush to avoid having to fight to find a table.  (See Pinocchio Haus post!)
10. Watch Wishes, the nighttime fireworks.  I think the best spot is on the back half of the hub – behind the statue of Mickey and Walt holding hands.  This will make you ready to plan your next Disney vacation where the magic never ends.
