Five Best Resort Pools at Walt Disney World Resorts

Many people like to plan a down day during our Disney World trips especially if they're going when it's hot. It's Florida...it's almost always hot! What do you do on your down day? Sleep in, play mini golf, and maybe enjoy your resort hotel's pool!

Here are the best ones at Disney World!

5. Dig Site at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort: At the Dig Site, you'll find a large area with a Mayan ruins theme and the Lost City of Cibola pool. In the middle, the 50-foot pyramid has a 123-foot-long waterslide provides lots of fun! Dig Site also has the largest hot tub on property along with a (pretty lame) kiddie pool.

 

4. Big Blue Pool at Art of Animation Resort: This is the largest pool on Disney property! Located next to the buildings with the Finding Nemo family, its most unique characteristic is that it plays music...UNDER WATER! Another huge perk here is having a zero entry for little ones. Nearby you'll find a splash pad and another pool in the Cars family suite area.

3. Fuentes del Morro at Caribbean Beach Resort: Here you'll find a great pirate themed pool with two waterslides. One is kind of short and nice for young children; the other one is 102 feet long and pretty fun. This pool also has zero entry. Nearby is the best water play area at a Moderate Resort with mini slides, water cannons, and a huge barrel that dumps over every few minutes drenching everyone under it!

2. Lava Pool at Polynesian Village Resort: At the Polynesian Village Resort, you'll find the fabulous Lava Pool as well as the quieter Oasis Pool and the Kiki Tiki Splash Play area. What's so great about the Lava Pool? A towering volcano, a waterfall, and a 142' water slide! A zero-depth entry point, similar to a beach, makes for easy entry and exit for both the youngest and oldest visitors. Bonus: Get a Dole Whip nearby!

1. Stormalong Bay at Beach Club & Yacht Club: Not surprisingly, Stormalong Bay is the number one pick on our list! Shared between both resorts, it is comprised of three different areas, so not only is it unique, but it has something to appeal to everyone! One area has a sand bottom, so kids can splash or swim or build a sand castle! Hop in an inner tube and float around the lazy river. Take the path toward the lagoon and climb the ladder on the pirate ship to zoom down the 230'-long water slide! There's even a miniature water slide for the smaller guests in the Shipwreck Pool. There are also three quiet pools (one at Beach Club, one at Beach Club Villas, and one at Yacht Club) in addition to hot tubs.

All Disney Resorts have pools, and you really can't go wrong with any of them! They're all heated, so you can take a swim even in the winter. If a day at the pool is important to you, though, hopefully this will help you choose the right resort pool for your next stay!
