This is the beginning of a series of
blogs written by Wishdrawals' kids...the children of our Wishdrawals' Disney
Travel Planners who have become experts themselves! Hope you enjoy!
Have you
ever been to Walt Disney world? I have. While Disney is a great place itself,
one important factor is their rides. You come to find you have favorite rides
or rides that you continuously want to ride on. As an “older kid” or “tween,” I
like more scary rides. If you’re like me, my favorite rides might become yours,
too. Today, I am going to be telling you about my favorite rides.
My ultimate
favorite ride is a roller coaster called Space Mountain. Space Mountain is
located in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. Space Mountain is a pitch black,
twisty and turn-y experience. There are three people to a roller coaster car,
and you don’t sit next to anyone. You enter a pitch black area, and it feels
like you are taken into another world. You experience unexpected and sudden
twists, turns, and drops. Space Mountain is my favorite ride of all time
because I love the thrill of not knowing what is going to happen next. You
might be expecting a long, suspenseful pull up and then a steep drop, but
truthfully, that doesn’t really happen. Though the name is misleading, there
really aren’t any steep or scary drops. It is overall a fabulous ride.
My second
favorite ride is another roller coaster called Expedition Everest. Expedition
Everest is located in Animal Kingdom. I have to admit, this is probably the
scariest ride I’ve ever ridden. With an eighty-foot drop, backwards craziness
and super speed, Expedition Everest consists of some serious thrill. At some
point during the ride, you see a projection of a yeti breaking the track, and
then you go backwards. Instead of going downward, you go down and then back up,
but still backwards. Then, you go down an eighty-foot drop. The cool thing
about this drop is that at the bottom of the super fast drop, you turn and go back
up another super fast, super tall eighty-foot high track. You sit next to one
other person. A small part of it is outside, and super high up, so it’s really
exciting and scary. This is one of my favorite rides because I love the
eighty-foot drop, and I love the backwards part. The first time I went on this
ride, I literally screamed every single second of the backwards part, the drop
and going back up from the drop. Then I
immediately rode it again!
Beautiful landscaping in Pandora! |
My last
favorite ride is the Flight of Passage ride. The Flight of Passage ride is
located in Animal Kingdom, in Pandora, the World of Avatar. Pandora is amazing,
and the Flight of Passage ride brings the special themed area of the park to
life. The Flight of Passage ride experience goes like this: you are taken into
a room (with other people), and you each discover which avatar is your match.
You then go into a larger room, where you see things that look a bit like
motorcycles. After putting your belongings into cubbies, you each hop on one of
these bikes. You put on special 3-D glasses, look at a screen and then the
journey begins. You feel like you are riding a Banshee in the Avatar world. You
can even feel the Banshee breathing! You experience drops, sudden chills, etc.
It’s like you’re really there! This is one of my favorite rides because it’s
just awesome.
Thank you so
much for reading about my favorite rides at Walt Disney World! I hope you get to check one of them out
during your next visit.
