Traveling with Baby to Disney World: What Can We Ride at Animal Kingdom?

Animal Kingdom was the fourth and most recent park to open at Walt Disney World, and this will finish up our series of discussing attractions for babies and toddlers at Walt Disney World!

Animal Kingdom opened on Earth Day, April 22, 1988, and just celebrated its 20th anniversary! This park is themed around the natural environment and animal conservation and is accredited by the Associated of Zoos and Aquariums.


Animal Kingdom has several rides with height restrictions: Primeval Whirl (48"), Expedition Everest and Avatar's Flight of Passage (44"), and Kali River Rapids (38").

With several shows and a number of rides, there are plenty of attractions the whole family can do and

These attractions are acceptable for anyone to experience but note a few things to take into consideration:

• Rivers of Light Nighttime show: This is a gorgeous beautiful show but very slow paced and may not hold the attention of a very young or squirmy child! It is quiet enough to sleep through though!
• Various walking trails: While these are great for older children to locate the various animals and learn about them, they're often harder to find than typical zoo animals and little ones may quickly lose interest!
• It's Tough to Be a Bug: This 3-D show has lots of smells and interactive bug special affects that may scare babies and younger children including smoke, "insects" that drop from the ceiling, and it's generally dark and loud.

Use that Rider Swap option for any rides baby cannot ride! Remember to take baby with you to the Cast Member working the entrance of the FastPass line who will then issue a Rider Swap ticket to the parent/adult staying back with the little one. Once the first parent rides, swap places and the second parent rides.

Don't forget the great character meals at Tusker House available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Here you'll find Mickey, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy dressed in their safari wear! Animal Kingdom is a beautiful park with lots to see, so stop and explore the trails, listen to some music, or chat with some Cast Members.
