Last week I did an introduction to
Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort and all the exciting and unique things to do there.
This week I want to talk a little more about the room types available at DHHI. Similar to Disney's Vero Beach, Saratoga Springs, and Old Key West, this is a stand-alone Disney Vacation Club property although other people can stay if there is a availability. DVC members who own at DHHI get first dibs on booking their reservations, and then the property opens up about 7 months out for anyone else to book.
Here at DHHI, there are only villas available--studios, 1-Bedroom, 2-Bedroom, and 3-Bedroom Grand Villas. Except for the studios, all the villas have full kitchens and washer and dryers in the villa. All of the villas have balconies with views of various areas--the marsh, the water, garden areas or the pool.
The vast majority of the studios are located in the main building they call the Lodge. The only villas that are handicapped accessible are located in the Lodge area as this is the only building with an elevator. There are a handful of studios that connect to 1-bedroom villas in the Lodge.
The studios have one queen bedroom and one sleeper sofa as well as a small table with chairs, a very large TV with a DVD player, a spacious bathroom and a kitchenette. The kitchenette is actually quite a bit of space. In the kitchenette is a microwave, toaster, coffee pot, bar sink and a mini-fridge along with a cabin for storage that holds paper plates and bowls. Also provided are paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and dish cloth, and a few packs of coffee.

Bathroom--not a lot of storage space in here! |

Shower--this was an HA room so it was a roll-in with handles. Hidden Mickey's in the shower curtain! |

Our studio connected to our friends' 1-bedroom villa, so we had the ability to see two types of villas on this trip. The one bedroom has a sitting area with sofa bed, a table that sits four, a fully equipped kitchen, a large TV with DVD player, laundry closet, a large bathroom with soaker tub and a dedicated bedroom with a queen bed and armoire with another TV. The balcony on this 1-bedroom was huge and accessible from both the bedroom and the living room space.

Full kitchen! Full sized fridge to the right and lots of storage in the island. |

The balconies on both villas had two rocking chairs and an outside table with four chairs.

The 2- and 3-bedroom villas are huge! The 2-bedroom can sleep up to 9 people with two separate bedrooms plus two full-sized sleeper sofas and a twin-sized sleeper chair. The 3-bedroom villas are huge and are two-stories tall! These can sleep up to 12 people with a master suite (king bed), two queen beds in each of the other two bedrooms with private bathroom, queen sleeper sofa, and a dining room with seating for 8!
There is room for everyone at Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. Check them out the next time you're looking for a beach getaway or a great place for the whole family to be together!
